Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak has designated mining as an essential industry. Mines are allowed to continue operations, with a memorandum from the Nevada Department of Business & Industry providing specific guidelines designed to keep employees safe. Nevada Gold Mines:

$1,500,000 to Nevada COVID-19 Response, Relief and Recovery Taskforce

$1,100,000 to Chamber Check program, giving all NGM employees $150 to spend at local businesses in Elko, Winnemucca, and Battle Mountain. 

$200,200 to area native tribes to purchase food and prayer beads

$100,000 to Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas

$50,000 to food banks in Elko, Battle Mountain, and
Winnemucca

$22,000 to senior centers in Elko, Battle Mountain,

12 cows from Nevada Gold Mines ranches to area native tribes

Nevada Mining Association:

Hosted a virtual donation drive on behalf of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. NvMA matched contributions for a total donation of $6,880

Purchased $2,500 in gift cards to Nevada restaurants to donate to teachers across the state

 

MCCLELLAND LABORATORIES, INC.:

Donated boxes of safety glasses, goggles, shields, and 3,000 gloves

 

Elko Mining Group:

Donated $250,000 and 2,500 gallons of hand sanitizer to rural Nevada communities in conjunction with Waterton Global Resource Management Inc.

Atlantis Casino & Spa:

Donated 5,000 masks, 15,000 gloves, 15 gallons of bleach, and cell-phone chargers to area hospitals

Kinross Round Mountain:

$100,000 to Southwest Central Regional Economic Development Authority to create loan grant program for small businesses in northern Nye County, Esmeralda County, and southern Lander County

$35,000 to Nevada Outreach Training Organization & NyE Communities Coalition to help area residents facing challenges related to unemployment, food security, childcare, health care access, & more

 

Kinross Bald Mountain:

$35,000 to Elko County School District for Spring Creek weekday meal program

$20,000 to the City of Ely’s Revolving Loan Program

$10,000 to the White Pine County Chamber of Commerce to support healthcare workers at the William Bee Ririe Hospital in Ely and local businesses

$9,600 to the White Pine County School District Weekend Lunch Program

$8,000 to White Pine Ministerial Association Food Bank

$7,200 to White Pine County School District weekend meal program

$6,000 to Eureka Senior Center for meal service

$3,000 to Friends in Service Helping Food Bank in Elko

Donating $250 weekly to food banks in Humboldt County

Volunteering for food distribution at Humboldt County food banks

$20,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of White Pine County

$50 to each employee in Chamber Checks to support local businesses
