Nevada Mining Association Launches 6th Year of Hope for Heat Campaign
The campaign benefits three amazing Nevada non-profits
Reno, Nev. (May 28, 2021) – The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) is kicking off its sixth annual Hope for Heat campaign, giving Nevadans a reason to cheer for warmer days.
Launching on Memorial Day (May 31) and running through Labor Day (September 6), NVMA will make a $100 donation to After-School All-Stars Las Vegas each day the temperature reaches 100 degrees in Las Vegas. Funds raised will support after-school programs and boost After-School All-Stars’ mission of providing children with a safe space to learn, grow and succeed in both school and life.
In Northern Nevada and for the second summer, the heat is on, too. Each day temperatures hit 90 degrees in Northern Nevada, $90 will be donated to both the Eddy House in Reno and the Boys & Girls Club of Elko. The Eddy House provides homeless and at-risk youth access to critical basic resources in a safe, secure place as well as training to develop necessary skills for sustainable independence. The Boys & Girls Club of Elko offers programs to keep youth on track to graduate, enabling them to plan for a future as healthy, productive and responsible citizens.
“Needless to say, we’re rooting for a sizzling summer throughout the Silver State,” said NVMA President Tyre Gray. “Each day the mercury rises, some of our state’s most incredible and compassionate nonprofits will benefit. They are delivering vital tools and programs to young people throughout Nevada, ultimately equating to them achieving success in everyday life, school and in the future.”
From 2016 through 2020, Hope for Heat contributed $52,500 to Nevada nonprofits. For more information about NVMA and their work, visit www.nevadamining.org.
