Top Things to Know Before You Go to Lake Tahoe!

The NVMA Convention is almost here! What do you need to know before you go? Check out these quick notes that will get you ready for your trip to Tahoe.

Top Things to Know Before NVMA Annual Convention - Nevada Mining Association - 11) Download the Convention App & Setup Your Profile:

The NVMA is utilizing our convention app again this year.  To download:

  • From your phone’s app store, search “NVMA Events” and download.
  • Open app and enter “2026 Nevada Mining Association Convention” in search bar when prompted. Tap event once it appears on screen.
  • Enter first name, last name, and email when prompted.
  • Check email or text messages for verification code and enter the code in the app.
  • Explore the app to view your agenda and connect with fellow attendees.

The app makes it easier than ever to connect with your fellow NVMA Convention attendees. But first, you’ll need to set up your profile page:

  • Open the app, select your profile in the top, right corner of your screen
    Click “View Profile” and click the pencil icon to edit profile information
2) Keep Safety Top of Mind & Wear Your Badge

This year, the NVMA Annual Convention is spreading out to some new territory–making use of the beautiful Tahoe Blue facilities a short,  5-minute walk from Harrah’s and Harveys. Keep an eye on the locations listed for the various sessions, and use the App for maps/floor plans. Please note Conference Badges are required for entry into all events, sessions, and excursions!  

3) Parking Information

If you are registered under our convention group block, you will receive free self-parking.  When entering the parking garage upon arrival, please take a parking ticket.  Once you have checked into the hotel, your hotel room key will be used to exit and enter the paid parking area for the duration of your stay, for unlimited access per day.

6) Dress Code:

General Conference Dress Code:

Conference attire is business casual for all meetings and sessions. This means khakis, dress pants, sports coat, suit (tie optional), dress jeans with a blazer, button-down long sleeve shirts, and dresses. All meetings are indoors so you don’t have to worry about outside temperatures. Conference Ballrooms tend to be chilly so please bring a blazer or sweater.

Evening Events:

Keep in mind that there will be opportunities to enjoy the beautiful lake-front scenery. Please bring a blazer or sweater as nights in Lake Tahoe can be chilly.

    • Join us for an outdoor food truck reception to kick off the convention. Dress is business casual.

    • Set against the stunning shores of Lake Tahoe, this evening event offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beautiful waterfront scenery. Feel free to embrace the theme with pirate-inspired attire or come dressed in business casual.

  • Friday Evening: Celebration of Excellence, Featuring the Safety & Reclamation Awards at the Tahoe Blue Center: Western-Inspired Cocktail or Evening Attire
    • Celebrate Nevada mining excellence in style! Guests are encouraged to embrace a touch of Western flair while maintaining cocktail or evening attire. Suggested attire includes a suit or blazer with dress pants and tie, Western boots, a pantsuit, cocktail dress, or other elevated Western-inspired ensembles.
      This event will be held indoors at the Tahoe Blue Event Center.
